Block Drop for the TRS-80 Model MC-10

** NOTE to 4K users. This game will run on a 4K MC-10.
However, during testing I was getting an out of memory
error on the 2nd or 3rd game. I'm guessing the best thing
to do with a 4K MC-10 is to answer No to play again? and
type RUN to play again.

The object to Block Drop is to catch the falling colored
blocks and gain the highest score. Each block caught is
worth 100 points. MIssing 10 blocks ends the game.

You have the ability to "zap" a block. This will send it
straight up 4 spaces. This makes it possible to catch blocks
you would otherwise miss. You are limited to 10 "zaps" per
game.

Controls:

1 to move LEFT
- to move RIGHT
<space bar> to "zap"

** NOTE on controls. If you press a key while you are already
pressing another key the keyboard will seem to stop responding.
To fix this press the 1st key that was being pressed. Of course
this can ruin a game of Block Drop.
IT IS BEST TO PRACTICE RELEASING ONE KEY BEFORE PRESSING THE
NEXT KEY.

I've been told this is hardware limitation
of the MC-10. (?)

[emulator note: you might get better results if you set the keyboard to "emulated" mode before play.]

Difficulty:

At 2000 points, the blocks will start to fall from farther down
the screen.

At 5000 points, the blocks will start to fall from the original
height however they will change direction with out notice. SAVE
YOUR ZAPS!

AT 7000 points, the blocks will change direction more frequently.

In the ZIP [unzipped in emulator archive]:

* The .WAV file to record to cassette and load the game on a real MC-10 [left out of emulator archive]!
* .c10 for use with Virtual MC-10. An emulator by Emucompboy. (See LINKS)
* A .TXT file of the program that can also be used with the quick type
feature of Virtual MC-10 [left out of emulator archive].

I hope you enjoy Block Drop. I spent many hours on a real MC-10
making this game. (I haven't programmed anything in years!)
I love the MC-10 !!!
